What is the mission of the Warrenton Youth Soccer Club? The founders of WYSC created the league as a place where children of all ages and abilities could learn about sports while having fun. The emphasis is on learning, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Inclement Weather policy

Inclement weather is used to describe all of the following factors: Lightning and Hail

                  Rules:

  • At the first sign of inclement weather all players must clear the fields/courts and seek shelter
  • Shelter is considered anything that has a fully enclosed roof and walls
  • All activities must wait 20 minutes from the last lightning or the last sound of thunder before taking the field/court. Every time you see lightning, you must wait 20 more minutes before you resume training. 

WYSC will make the call to close fields and courts by 4:00 pm. After that time it will be left to the coaches discretion.

Extreme Heat Policy

Heat Index Rules Recommendations
85 and below
  • Must ingest water at least once per hour
  • No restrictions on water consumption
  • At least 2 water breaks per hour
  • 3-5 minute rest period recommended with each break
85-89 Degree's
  • Must Ingest water at least twice per hour
  • No restrictions on water consumption
  • At least 3 water breaks per hour
  • 3-5 minute rest period recommended with each break
89-94 Degree's
  • Water breaks every 20 minutes
  • 5 minute rest period for each hour training
  • No restrictions on water consumption
  • 3-4 water breaks per hour
  • 3-5 minute rest period recommended with each break
  • Personal ice towels for cooling
  • All athletes wear sun block
94-99 Degree's
  • Water consumed every 20 minutes
  • Mandatory 4 water breaks
  • 3-5 minute rest period for each water break
  • No restrictions on water consumption
  • For every 45 minutes of training, minimum of 15 minutes of rest in the shade
  • Athletes must wear sun block
  • Personal ice towels for cooling
  • Training sessions no longer than 2 hours
  • Training sessions will start after 6:30
99-104 Degree's
  • Water consumed every 10 minutes
  • Mandatory 5 water breaks
  • 3-5 minute rest period for each water break
  • No restrictions on water consumptions
  • For every 45 minutes of training, minimum of 15 minutes of rest in the shade
  • Training sessions will be no more than 2 hours
  • Athletes must wear sun block
  • Personal Ice towels for cooling
  • Training sessions to start after 6:30
104 and above
  • Cancel outdoor activities or move inside

  • All age group are allowed to participate in all conditions
  • Players wear appropriate clothing 
30 - 40 Degree's
  • All age groups are allowed to practice
  • Players must have a jacket and pant on to start training
    • U4-U12 Players must keep jacket and pants on through the training
      • U13 and older may use their discretion while training
  • All players wear hats and gloves
15 - 30 Degree's
  • U4-U12 may not train outside
  • U13 and above must wear a jacket and pants on while training
  • All players must have hat and gloves
  • Outside training may not last more than an hour
 
15 Degree's and below
  • No outside Training
